Our Patrons
Subhendu Maity is a well-known name in the field of Bengali Music who addresses himself as "Ganer Majur". He has been working seamlessly in different streams of Bengali Folk Music since more than fifty years. "Lalon Academy", founded by him, is a famous research center in India on Indian Folk Culture. He is very close to folk artists of West Bengal, Assam, Tripura and Bangladesh.
In addition to folk-music, Bengali Urban Music is indebted to him as well. He was the "Bhagirath" of the renaissance in Bengali Modern Music at the start of 90s. He brought many new artists into the limelight.
He is a singer, lyricist, composer, play-writer, essayist, actor, director and organizer. We are blessed to have him as our patron.
Debasish Sen Sharma is a postgraduate in English and Film Studies from Jadavpur University. He has been working as an independent film maker and a theatre practitioner since 2000 engaging himself in a huge range of activities- Films, Academics, theatre-in- education and trainings.To his credit,he has 2 feature films, almost 50 advertisements and corporate films , 5 documentaries and and almost 70 national and international workshops apart from his 15 years of teaching experience. We are blessed to have him as our patron.
Syamal Chattopadhyay is a lyricist, composer, poet, artiste and director - well known name as the director of "Bardhamaner Bor Borishaler Kone" and as the lyricist composer of many bengali modern songs. He has written/composed more than 3000 songs and poems. We are blessed to have him as our patron. more
